Arctic Sheet Metal.

Showcasing modern craftsmanship.

With over 40 years of experience, Arctic Sheet Metal wanted to display their craftsmanship and capabilities having shaped the very skyline of Portland, OR. Their website didn't present their vast portfolio of work and they needed a way to show the unique capabilities of the company, noteworthy projects, and the dedicated team behind the work.

Bringing sexy back to the industry.

As the Executive Creative Director at Fort West, I led a team to design a robust system that provided the flexibility to present project timelines, long-form stories, technology and specialization, and their dedicated team in one sleek site. Upon arriving at the site, the stark blue palette paired with black and white photography instantly sets Arctic apart from the industry. Our design provides a seamless transition from the landing page into the stories themselves, so that users hardly notice they're actually moving to a new page.

It's made with lasers.

On pages that showcase Arctic's technology, we provide interactive "play" areas for users to demonstrate how laser mapping and other technologies work. By providing a 2D to 3D experience, we can show virtual ducting and piping match complex blueprints.

More than a site, an ecosystem.

As part of our effort to capture all aspects of how Arctic does business (5am standup meetings at the warehouse included), we created a robust asset library and story archive. Still photography, video, employee headshots (all 60) as well as diving into archives of previous projects, translating current projects into digestible story timelines were all part of bringing the Arctic story to life.

This site, what went into it and the work it represents, is the company I've known we could be. It's taken 40 years, but this shows who we really are.

This is a custom heading element.

Arctic Sheet Metal needed a way to showcase their growing collection of stellar work throughout a wide variety of industry verticals. We built a robust case study ecosystem that consisted of two core themes – project timelines and long-form stories.

Our developers built a single page to showcase all of the stories as well as templates to create individual timeline and traditional stories. These templates, which offered the ability to configure sections and information in a variety of ways, allowed the client to highlight project successes in an easily digestible format that was flexible enough to meet Arctic's needs.
